August 1-September 30 Club Award Alert!
The Smedley Award Membership Drive:

The theme for membership recruitment this year is “Each One Reach One!” If each Toastmaster brings in one new member, District 49 Toastmaster will have an amazing growth in membership! In honor of Dr. Ralph Smedley (founder), Toastmasters International offers the Smedley Award ribbon for clubs adding five new members between August 1st and September 30th.  The club also receives a choice of one module from the Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series, or the Leadership Excellence Series. District 49 will add a bonus of one Fall Conference Registration for a member from each of the Top Three Clubs* with the most new members between August 1st and September 30th.

The District will award an even bigger bonus of a Club Banner or an $85 credit to the Toastmasters International Bookstore for clubs that bring in at least five new members for all three of Toastmasters membership drives.

Google Lively Chat Rooom

City & County of Honolulu Toastmasters has a chat room on Google Lively.  It's called "Toastmasters 4079."  Notice the familiar furniture arrangement.  Cool huh?

Important: Lively is beta software.  Please save any work before running it.  Lively is only available for Windows XP/Vista PCs running Internet Explorer and Firefox and requires Flash in order to run embedded in a site.  If you are using your company's computer and network, please consult with your company's acceptable use policy or check with your IT department before running Lively.
